Sambora aka Sam Trevethick began his musical journey absorbing the rich harmonic textures and dynamics that saturated his classical-only childhood home. A collision with 90’s Rave culture and a new millennium saw the inception of a musical voice which has spanned multiple genres and reached millions of listeners across the globe. Since his role in the formation of live electronic icons SHAPESHIFTER, his production and songwriting has been core to the groups phenomenal success, which includes platinum sales, multiple music awards and recently breaking the record for most albums in the NZ top 20 at the same time (6). Simultaneously, Sambora’s solo output has followed paths of writing and production that have included House, Drum and Bass, Rave, Jungle, Thrash and Acoustic music.
He has collaborated with artists such as THE UPBEATS, TIKI TAANE, ASHY, VERA ELLEN, MISSY, LACHLAN ANDERSON, ELECTRIC WIRE HUSTLE, JULIA DEANS, JOL MULHOLLAND, L.A. MITCHELL and RIKKI GOOCH among others. Latest release ‘Let It Go’ features the seductive tones of Sharn Te Pou, whom he met whilst both were performing in a contemporary dance theatre tour.
