2014 – Peking Duk go BALLISTIC with ‘high’

When Be Rich A&R manager Guy Lewis played ‘High’ for the first time at Vicious HQ it was a different step for the Peking Duk boys, but everyone at the label thought it was a fantastic record. Instantly appealing and fresh, yet with the Peking Duk stamp all over it, ‘High’ is a slow, anthemic, electronic track with the vocals of Nicole Miller, and the song hit it out of the park! Embraced by Triple J, then adopted by just about every radio station in Australia, ‘High’ ended the year as a Triple Platinum cross over hit, reaching number five on the Australian ARIA Pop Chart and number 13 on the New Zealand chart. The song also voted Number two on Triple J’s Hottest 100 for the year, going on to win the AIR independent music award for ‘Best Independent Dance/Electronica or Club Single’. The Duk’s have had many crossover hits since ‘High’, but the track remains the bands biggest hit to date yet to be eclipsed by any of their many hits.

‘High” was remixed by Mell Hall for the 30 Years of Vicious celebrations.
