2008 – Vicious’ andy van meets a new kid called avicii…

When Vandalism was on tour in Stockholm Sweden, they played at a club run by promoter Ash Pournouri. Upon arrival into the city, Andy Van met with Ash and he was invited to the house – and in fact the bedroom studio set up – of Tim Bergling, aka, Avicii. The meeting came about because Ash was Avicii’s manager, when Avicii was just 18.

Andy promptly sent Avicii’s demos back to the Vicious office, where both he and John were on the same page about how great Avicii’s demos were after listening to the early works. Both label founders agreed Vicious should sign the young Avicii! The early demos displayed beautiful melodic elements and while nobody knew how massive Avicii would become, the label was eager to put out the  club productions. After some back and fourth with manager Ash, a deal was inked with Vicious in June 2008 with his debut track with Vicious, “Sound Of Now” released in November of the same year.
