2008 – dirty south breaks globally

Kicking off 2008, Pete Tong named “It’s Too Late” by Dirty South Vs Evermore his ‘Essential New Tune’ a huge acknowledgement for any artist! After a start like that, throughout the rest of the year, Dirty collaborated with Paul Harris (UK) on ‘Better Day’, which Vicious released in Australia and Toolroom released in Europe. The song ‘Let It Go’ also came out on Vicious, before being signed to none other than Axwell’s Axtone Label in Europe where it received a great rework from the man Axwell. The signing also began a successful connection between both producers, who are still friends to this day.

Further into the year, Dirty South released club cuts ‘Minority’, ‘D10’, ‘Shield’ (a collaboration with D Rimarez), before finishing 2008 with the progressive, big room house cover version of The Doors ‘The End’. Fun fact – the  new vocal featured on The End was so good that The Doors’ management requested the vocal stems as they believed the track had actually sampled Jim Morrison (it was actually sing by a Doors cover band).

Hot production duo PAX follow up their Beatport success with a cracking remix of ‘The End’ by Dirty South for the 30 Years of Vicious compilation.
