When it comes to early anthems we released here at Vicious, Ground Level’s seminal ‘Dreams Of Heaven’ has to be at or very near the top of the list. Released in our first year, 1993, this was not only an underground anthem in Australia, but crossed over to top European club charts and even made it’s way into the lower regions of the UK’s Pop Chart Top 50. In celebration of our 30 years, Vicious welcomes Australian house maestro Mind Electric for the remixing duties and he certainly delivers with his trademark house production. Chunky drums and the original’s superb key stabs kick this off before dropping into the deep funky bassline. The groove then builds back before the iconic chord progression drops, followed by huge pads and the originals amazing lead melody, before the awesome vocal lands on top. We then kick back into the groove again as the remix works its way through 6 minutes of great, melodic, uplifting house music, all the while retaining a nod to the past but with a contemporary production quality. A great remix and we’re stoked to hear this re-worked 30 years after it was first released.
