Out Now!!
“I've no excuse, I just want you to use me
Take me and abuse me
I got no taboos, I'll make a trade with you
Do anything you want me to
Money talks…”
Dynamic dance act, Mind Electric, has injected new life into the classic club crossover tune ‘Dirty Cash.’ This is a slamming dance track with a killer pop edge.
DJ K Jackson is the brains and brawn behind Mind Electric, the latest signing to leading home-grown dance label Vicious (Dirty South, Vandalism, mrTimothy, Sgt Slick, Rogue Traders, Cabin Crew, Madison Avenue). Discovered by the label’s directors John Course and Andy Van (Vandalism, Madison Avenue), Jackson recently returned to Western Australia from three years DJing throughout Europe, where his ability to move a dance floor saw him rock clubs in Sweden and Germany; including Hamburg’s infamous ‘Reeperbahn’ Red-light District. While house and electro are Jackson’s trademark styles, he’s notorious for skilfully mixing a variety of genres in his live sets to great effect.
In addition to his international DJ exploits, Jackson has years of drumming and playing keyboards to his credit, as well as 13 years of composing and producing for short films, television and radio commercials, and remixing local rock bands. Heavily influenced by music throughout his life, his latest dancefloor production as Mind Electric is destined to gain him widespread attention, not to mention chart/radio space.
Mind Electric’s ‘Dirty Cash’ debut on Vicious is a cool bassline-driven revamp of the 1989 Stevie V club classic. In Jackson’s own words “I loved the original, but this version brings it up to date with current sounds”. ‘Dirty Cash’ still has the soulful techno element of the original, but is setting current dance floors alight with fresh strings, basslines, keys and FX. Perth soul jazz chanteuse, Fantine M Pritoula lays down the striking vocals on this new version.
Mind Electric's debut single ‘Dirty Cash’ is poised for release 22nd May 2006 on Vicious Grooves and includes the Original, Dub, Alternative Mix and remix from Dirty South.
